Festival of Trees The Nathan Adelson Hospice Festival of Trees Gala will be Dec. 5 at the Pahrump Nugget and will feature a black-tie-optional live auction of the trees with profession auctioneer, Ski Censki. A no-host cocktail bar will be available. A silent auction and a raffle of three top-end prizes will conclude with a sit-down dinner including Pahrump Valley Winery wines, compliments of Bill and Gretchen Loken. Entertainment will be provided by Open Road and Master of Ceremonies Dan Rodriguez. Tickets are $100 per person. 'Saddle Bag Santa' trail rides The Rising Star Equestrian Association will sponsor "Saddle Bag Santa" trail rides to raise funds for Toys for Tots. The rides are scheduled for Nov. 29, Dec. 7 and Dec. 13. The fee is $25 per rider and a barbecue is included. Seniors weekend trip to Arizona The Pahrump Senior Center will sponsor another bus trip Dec. 6 and 7 to Lake Havasu, Ariz., for the Parade of Lights. The ticket price is $135 per person and includes a one-night stay at Quality Inn, Lake Havasu, a complimentary breakfast and the Parade of Lights buffet. On the menu will be chicken Marsala with crimini mushrooms, London broil with green peppercorn sauce, Parmesan-chive mashed potatoes, braised winter vegetables, mixed green salad, roll and butter, assorted desserts, water, iced tea or coffee and hot chocolate for the boat parade. The bus will depart from the VFW on Homestead Road at 8 a.m. Dec. 6 and arrive at 11 a.m. in Lake Havasu (Mountain Standard Time). The return trip leaves Lake Havasu at noon on Dec. 7 and arrives at the VFW at 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Reservations are necessary and are based on double occupancy. They must be made and paid no later than Dec. 3. Call 751-6860 for more information and reservations. Pahrump Gunfighters The Pahrump Gunfighters will perform western skits and reenactments at 1 p.m. Nov. 30 at "Dusty Flats," next to the StageStop Lounge and Casino, 100 W. Stagecoach Road. Pahrump A-Pum-Pum The annual Pahrump A-Pum-Pum Christmas festival will be held all day Dec. 6 at the Bob Ruud Community Center. There will be breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, pictures with Santa, crafts, face-painting, book reading, games, videos, raffles, contests, prizes and surprises, an electric lights parade, a sing-a-long, a tree lighting and the staging of "Santa and the Wicked Wazoo." The festivities begin at 8 am and end around 9:30 p.m. Shadow Mountain Players The Shadow Mountain Players will present a free performance of "Santa and the Wicked Wazoo" at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Bob Ruud Community Center. This will be the tale of a too-tall leprechaun who shows up on Santa's doorstep wanting to be "shrunk." Santa has problems of his own. The Wicked Wazoo plans to turn the North Pole into a kingdom for the Mean and Nasty using her evil "defroster." The leprechaun saves Santa and Santa teaches the leprechaun how to be himself. Silver Tappers Christmas show The Nevada Silver Tappers will present a Christmas Spectacular benefit show at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the showroom at Saddle West Hotel and Casino. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance from any Silver Tapper, Saddle West or by contacting 727-7011 or e-mailing nstmsgy@pahrump.com. Proceeds will go to No to Abuse and Walk the Rock. Christmas Concert The annual Christmas concert will be presented Dec. 17 at the Pahrump Nugget Events Center. The concert is a Pahrump Arts Council effort in conjunction with the Pahrump Valley High School Choir. The events is free and open to the public. Haven Selah Haven Selah will hold "Dances of Universal Peace" at 1 p.m. Dec. 6, 1680 N. Blagg Road. The steps are easy and sacred songs from all over the world will be taught in native languages. No experience is needed. There will be a vegetarian potluck to follow. Call 727-8633 for more information. Tree lighting The annual lighting of the Pahrump Nugget holiday decorations will be 6 p.m. for the outside decorations and 6:30 p.m. for the inside decorations Nov. 28. Red Hat Christmas party The Red Hatters will hold the Christmas party at 11 a.m. Dec. 13 in the Pahrump Nugget. The cost is $23 per person and the deadline for reservations is Dec. 1.
