Little League

The Pahrump Valley Little League will hold a meeting Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. to help fill positions still open for the 2009 season. The meeting will be held in the Honeysuckle Park Little League office.

RCMS hoops

Boys and girls interested in playing basketball at Rosemary Clarke Middle School must just have completed a physical examination by a physician to be eligible for preseason workouts.

Student-athletes must also have proof of insurance on file with the athletics director before participating.

Physical forms can be picked up in the RCMS front office during school hours. Fall athletes should already have an exam form on file.

Basketball tryouts will be Dec. 1-3.

Donation jars

The Preston, Katie and Zachariah Dockter donation fund has been established, in memory of the late Pahrump Valley High School assistant football and head fast-pitch softball coach.

There are donation jars at:

* The Rosemary Clarke Middle School front office;

* The Pahrump Valley High School athletics department office;

* At all registers are Ace Hardware, and

* At all five Horizon Markets.

At Petrack

Each Monday and Friday, at 8 a.m., senior softball is being played at Petrack Park. Contact Ken Causey at 727-6413 for information.

* Pahrump Valley Softball League standings:

Men's (Final) -- Young Guns 19-5, Da-Hui 17-7, Smokin' Dogs/Tobacco Express 17-7, Smokin' Aces/Tobacco Express 6-18, Ruff Ryders 3-21.

Co-Ed (Final) -- Jager Bombs 19-5, I&J Cleaning 18-6, Stage Stop 13-11, Hit-N-Miss 9-15, Bulls Hitters 0-24.

Hoop Shoot

The Elks National Free Throw Hoop Shoot will be contested Dec. 13 at J.G. Johnson School. The contest is for boys and girls ages 8-13

Registration begins at 9 a.m..
