Gilbert R. Wagner

Gilbert R. Wagner, 79, passed away May 23, 2008, at his home in Pahrump, of a heart attack.

He was born April 21, 1929, in Chicago.

He was a retired electrician who spent over 30 years with IBEW Local 134, Illinois and 10-plus years with IBEW Local 357, Nevada. He was a veteran of the Korean War (1948-1951), and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery.

Gilbert was loved deeply and will be very missed by many family members and friends.

He was a member for over 50 years of the VFW, a member of the Marine Corps League, the military Order of the Purple Heart, the American Legion and a founding member of the Golden Memories Car Club.

Gilbert is survived by wife Beverly (Berry); son Alan M. Wagner Sr.; daughter Nancy Wagner Weibler; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; stepchildren Curtis (Jackie) Berry and Fred (Melody) Berry Jr. and four nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; son, Glenn; daughter-in-law, Deborah and grandson, Geoffrey.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. May 28 at Palm Mortuary-Eastern.

Services are 1 p.m. May 29 at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the VFW National Home for Children - The Nevada Cottage, 3573 S. Waverly Road, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827. (05/23/2008)

Wayne Hirum Spencer

Wayne Hirum Spencer, 73, passed away May 21, 2008, in Pahrump.

He was born Jan. 28, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah and was a resident of Pahrump for 14 years, having come from Las Vegas.

He was a retired cargo agent for Northwest Airlines and a member of the LDS church.

His wife Pat Spencer of Pahrump; sons Wayne (Tammy) Spencer of Milwaukee, Wis., Mike (Ann) Spencer and Guy Rushton, both of Salt Lake City, Bret Rushton of Sparks, Jody (Roberta) Rushton of Las Vegas and Robby Spencer of Pahrump; daughters Lisa Yazzie and Trish (Dave) Thomas, both of Salt Lake City, Tina Rushton of Las Vegas and Tammi (Andy) Sisco and Toni (Chris) Graziozi, both of Memphis Tenn. survive him.

Services were held May 24 at Pahrump Family Mortuary. (05/21/2008)

Beverly J. Palmer

Beverly J. Palmer passed away May 18, 2008, in La Mesa, Calif.

She was born Sept. 2, 1928, and had lived in Pahrump, with her husband Jack, for 27 years.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge since 1981.

She is survived by son Allen Palmer of San Diego, Calif.; grandson Steven Palmer of San Diego; granddaughter Patricia Eubanks of Dallas, Texas and great-grandson Dylan Eubanks.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack, who passed away just two months ago.

Beverly and Jack will be interned together at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, and remain together -- soulmates forever. (05/18/2008)

Norman 'Pete' Ludwig

Norman "Pete" Ludwig, 79, passed away May 22, 2008, at home.

He was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Colorado and was a resident of Pahrump for 16 years.

He was a veteran of the Navy and retired from the United States Congress.

His children Rita (Mark) Schilling, Cathy (Bill) Biggs, Leland Ludwig, Larry (Debbie) Ludwig, Sharon Burmeister, Tammy (Duane) Fulps and Ron Gatzke and six grandchildren Jason, Tara, Valerie, Liza, Zach and Ally survive him.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 29, First Southern Baptist Church, Highway 160 at Fehrs Way. (05/22/2008)
