LAS VEGAS -- The approximately 100-acre Potosi Fire was 90 percent contained Thursday morning by the nearly interagency 100 wildland firefighters on scene.

Highway 160 remains open.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, said Kirsten Cannon, spokesman for the Bureau of Land Management. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, she said.

Barring significant activity, this will be the last update on the Potosi fire, Cannon said. It was reported not long after midnight Wednesday just east of Mountain Springs and south of Highway 160.

During part of Wednesday morning, as strong winds fanned the flames, traffic was halted along the highway. Later on traffic was convoyed back and forth through the Mountain Springs pass.
