Softball

The Nevada Class 3-A Fast-Pitch Softball tournament begins at 10 a.m. Friday at Bishop Manogue High School in Reno.

In the first round, Pahrump Valley plays Dayton at noon, after defending champion Fernley and Spring Creek clash.

The second round begins at 2 p.m. Friday, with the title matchups scheduled for noon and 2 p.m. (if necessary) Saturday.

Boys golf

The Nevada Class 3-A Golf tournament concludes today at the CasaBlanca course in Mesquite, with Pahrump Valley among the teams entered. The first 18 holes were played Tuesday at The Palms.

Track

The Nevada All-Classes State Track and Field Championships are scheduled Friday and Saturday at Damonte Ranch High School in Reno.

Pahrump Valley (Class 3-A) and Beatty, Tonopah and Round Mountain (1-A) are entered.

Action begins at 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.

Baseball

The Nevada Class 3-A Baseball tournament begins Thursday at Western Nevada College in Carson City, with Mesquite Virgin Valley, the Southern regional champion, playing Dayton at 1 p.m. At 4 p.m., Spring Creek, the Northern champion, will take on Truckee, Calif.

The semifinals are Friday at Peccole Park in Reno, with the title round Saturday at Western Nevada.
