Rosemary Clarke Middle School will hold a football camp for 2008-2009 fifth, sixth and seventh graders May 19-20-21-22 at the school.

Times are 2:20 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. for sixth and seventh graders. Fifth graders will start at 4:30 p.m.

Cost is $35 and will include the camper receiving a T-shirt. Registration is on the first day of camp, or current sixth and seventh graders can register with Bret Hart at the school. E-mail bhart@nye.k12.nv.us for information.

Registration for the 2008 football season is Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. in the school gym. The first day of practice is Aug. 13 at 6 p.m.

* A junior volleyball camp for students in 4th-6th grades next school year will be held June 2-6, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day in the Rosemary Clarke Middle School gym.

The camp for grades 6-8 will be Aug. 25-28, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the gym.

Tryouts for the 2008 team will be Sept. 2-4, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the gym.

Another camp for 7th and 8th graders may be held in June. Call 727-7737 for information.

AYSO

Registration dates have been announced for AYSO soccer players.

Players born between Aug. 1, 1989 and July 31, 2004 are eligible to register. A copy of the child's birth certificate should be brought to the registration center.

The dates are:

* May 21, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.;

* June 7, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.;

* July 12, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The community center will be the site for registration on those dates, according to information provided by the soccer organization.

The cost will be $85 for the first child, $80 for each additional child within the same family.

Pre-registration can be made on the Web site, www.eayso.org.

All players in divisions U8 to U14 on either June 7 or July 12 will be evaluated at the community center. Players should bring shin guards to the evaluations.

Pop Warner

Pop Warner football registration forms for players 5 to 12 years old can be picked up, then completed, at Worden's Farmers Insurance, 2210 E. Commercial Road, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The cost is $180; applicants must bring a copy of their child's birth certificate to register.

Practice starts Aug. 1, with eight games to be played.

Volleyball

A volleyball league is forming, with matches to be contested on a grass court on Friday nights.

It will be a co-ed league, with six persons starting on each team. The first eight teams to register will be accepted.

An organizational meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., May 4 in Room A at the Community Center.
