Mary Louise Pross

Marie Louise Pross, 85, passed away April 27, 2008, at Manor Health Care Center Summerlin in Las Vegas.

She was born May 2, 1922, in Baltimore, Md. and was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years.

Her husband, Charles R. Grigg; sons Charles and Mark Grigg both of Portland, Ore., and Leo Grigg of Oxnard, Calif.; brother Leo Pross of Baltimore; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest Pross and Louise Roche.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Las Vegas. (04/27/2008)

Henry Lorenzo West

Henry Lorenzo West passed away April 26, 2008, in Las Vegas. He died from pneumonia.

Henry was born in 1923, in Long Beach, Calif.

He served in the Navy from 1941 to 1945 and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor.

In 1943, he married Virginia Baker and in 1961 moved from Minnesota to California.

While in Minnesota, he worked for Archer Daniels as a steam engineer and in California, he was a truck driver for Big 3 Industries.

After retiring, Henry and Virginia traveled for several years before finally settling in Pahrump.

Henry joined the Nye County Sheriff's Auxiliary Unit in 1999 and retired in 2006. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the U.S.S. Utah Pearl Harbor Survivor's Association.

He is survived by his wife Virginia; daughters Rita Boatright of Texas, Sue (Rick) Ogden of Washington, Jayne (Richard) Hoffmann of Arizona and Mary (Jerry) Renner of California; son Charles (Jean) West of Oregon; sister Velma Miles of California; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Henry will be missed by all.

Service will be at 10 a.m., May 23 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. (04/26/2008)
