Football

Rosemary Clarke Middle School will hold a football camp for 2008-2009 fifth-, sixth- and seventh-graders May 19-20-21 at the school.

Times are 2:20 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. for sixth and seventh graders. Fifth graders will start at 4:30 p.m.

Cost is $35 and will include the camper receiving a T-shirt. Registration is on the first day of camp, or current sixth and seventh graders can register with Bret Hart at the school. E-mail bhart@nye.k12.nv.us for information.

Golf

Bob Ragar and teammates Gene McGrath, Cindy McGrath and Darlene Howard won the United Way of Pioneer Territory Jerome Pollock Memorial Golf tournament with 55. The course was not designated.

At 56 were Dave Uthoff, Cameron McRae, Herb Cochran and Joe Williams. At 58 were Denise Fortin, Brad Geirger and Polly Paolozzi.

Roller hockey

The Green Machine defeated the Sharks 11-8, the Green Goblins stopped the Bruins 4-1 and the Chicken Wings downed the Thrasher 5-2 in Skate Zone Roller Hockey League games this week.

Brayden Williams scored seven goals and Kasen Oakey added four for the Machine; Karis Menges tallied three goals and Noah Jubinsky had two for the Sharks.

Michael Aviles and Shannon Schmidt scored twice each for the Goblins; Matthew Trujillo had the Bruins' goal.

Brandon Murphy scored three goals for the Wings.

Volleyball

A volleyball league is forming, with matches to be contested on a grass court on Friday nights.

It will be a co-ed league, with six persons starting on each team. The first eight teams to register will be accepted.

An organizational meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., May 4 in Room A at the Community Center.

Hall of Fame

Nominations are now being accepted for the Pahrump Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Membership forms are available in the PVHS athletics office; the deadline for submission is May 27.

Forms can be mailed or delivered personally to:

The form is divided into various segments:

* Name of nominee ... His or her years at PVHS ... Sports and activities the nominee participated in;

* Area of participation:

-- Athletics (must have graduated before 2002-2003 school year);

-- PVHS athletics contributor (booster, sponsor, other actions which warrant consideration);

-- School district employee (administrators, teachers, coaches).

The nomination sheet is to be signed and the date of nomination listed.
