Robert Anthony Cleveland

Robert Anthony Cleveland, 74, passed away April 29, 2008, at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1934 in El Monte, Calif., and was a resident of Pahrump for 19 years.

He was self-employed as the owner of Pahrump Muffler Service and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. His membership affiliations included Trick Trucks, Elks and Moose Lodge.

His wife Shiony Cleveland of Pahrump; daughter Robin (Mike) Connelle of Pahrump; sons Honce (Joan) Cleveland of Pahrump and Tony (Abigail) Cleveland of Durango, Colo.; sisters Mary Jane Adams of Palm Springs, Calif. and Eleanor Keifer of Palm Dale, Calif.; grandchildren Danny and Donny Cleveland of Colorado Springs, Colo, Mike and Carlie Cleveland Connelley and Katie and Tony Cleveland Jr. all of Durango; and great-grandchildren Jetta White of Austin, Texas and Alesha and Alexis Cleveland of Pahrump survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Neil Green Cleveland.

Services will be at 1 p.m., May 4 at the family home, 1470 Carberry Lane. (04/29/2008)

Jack B. Stermer

Jack B. Stermer, 60, passed away April 26, 2008 after a long struggle with cancer.

He was a technician in the auto industry and owned and maintained a few rental properties in Pahrump.

Jack was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter gunner with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam.

Jack was an avid model train enthusiast giving precise detail to all aspects of this activity and he displayed exceptional willpower and had a strong enthusiasm for life.

He loved spending time outdoors with his wife and "the girls," Brandy, Bailey and Buffy.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty of Pahrump; his mother Leona of California; brother Jerry of Colorado; daughter Taryn and granddaughter Tiana of Washington.

Jack's father preceded him in death.

In honor of Jack's wishes there will be no services. (04/26/2008)
