Workshop to help businesses bid on government contracts
Eden Inc. of Nevada will host a workshop on the Procurement Outreach Program, assisting local companies to bid on federal projects, at 6 p.m. Monday at Great Basin College Room 110. The Procurement Outreach Program is a cooperative agreement between the State of Nevada and the federal government assisting businesses statewide in initiating or expanding their marketing efforts for their products and services, Eden Inc. said. The Nevada Procurement Outreach works to increase the flow of contract dollars to Nevada businesses with the necessary training and technical assistance to find, bid on and win federal, state and local government contracts. Eden Inc. Executive Director Paula Elefante said the workshop will train prospective bidders how to bid on any request for proposals issued for any governmental type of activity, federal, state, town, school district, water authority, even private casino projects. Elefante said she sent out 150 notices to local companies and has already received a dozen inquiries. A $50 one-time enrollment fee will be charged for the program. Elefante said companies have to be registered in the program to submit bids to the respective agencies. The Procurement Outreach Program assists businesses with newsletters, marketing efforts, technical assistance on quotes and bids, documentation like quality control data and procurement history, e-commerce links of announcements and purchasing offices and networking assistance. Only 32 seats are available. Interested persons are advised to contact Eden to make a reservation at 751-1923, by fax at 751-5992 or via e-mail at paulae@eden-nv.com. |
