Fish Fry

Our Lady of the Valley fish fry will be 4-7 p.m., May 2 at the church hall, 871 E. Gamebird Road.

The menu features fried or baked fish dinners served with coleslaw and French fries, fish tacos with French fries, desserts and drinks.

May 27 -- Car seat safety check, call for appointment.

Mondays -- Scrapbooking class, 1-2 p.m.

Wednesdays -- Understanding the concepts of parenting, 3 p.m., for parents with children birth to 5 years-old.

Thursdays -- Mommy and me play group, 1 p.m.

The resource lending library is open 9-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Singles club meets

The Singles Friendship Club will meet 5 p.m., May 3, UNR Cooperative Extension Office, Dandelion and Calvada.

This is the monthly potluck and business planning meeting.

VFW swap meet

The VFW Post 10054 will host a swap meet on the second Sunday of every month (except May) beginning 7-3 p.m., May 4, 4651 S. Homestead Road.

Space rental is $7 if you bring your own table or $10 if the table is provided by the VFW.

The swap meet is open to the public and there is plenty of parking.

Eastern Star sale

The Order of the Eastern Star will hold a yard sale 8-2 p.m., May 3-4, 1901 Isaac Ave.

There will be dolls, furniture and unique, exotic items.

Methodist rummage sale

The Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church will hold a spring/summer rummage sale 8-4 p.m., May 2 and 8-1 p.m., May 3 at the church, 1300 E. Highway 372.

There will be clothing, linens, crafts, books, household items and appliances.

Friends of the Library

The Pahrump Friends of the Library will meet at 9:15 a.m., May 3 in the conference room.

Geoff Schumacher will speak before the business meeting.

Saved by Grace rummage sale

Saved by Grace Lutheran Church will hold a rummage sale 8-4 p.m., May 2-3, 1481 Gamebird Road, corner of Gamebird and Money.

Items for sale include household items, clothing, baked good, crafts and more.

EAA chapter 1160 meets

The Experimentaln Aircraft Association chapter 1160 will meet at 10 a.m., May 3, Phil Sullenberger's hangar, corner of Jet and Helicopter, Calvada Aeropark.

Paul Gundersen will present a program on aircraft maintenance, FAA regulations and flight training.

Dance recital

Donna's Studio of Dance students will have a recital at 7 p.m., May 2-3 in the Pahrump Valley High School Auditorium.

Art & Sol at the Nugget

The 14th annual Art & Sol will take place Memorial Day weekend 10-5 p.m., Saturday May 24 and 10-4 p.m., Sunday, May 25 at the Pahrump Nugget.

Admission is free.

All fine artisans will show and sell their wares in fine art, crafts, fiber arts and more.

Benefit play performance

The Shadow Mountain Community Players will present "The Curse of the Cobra's Kiss" as a benefit for the James family.

The event will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 2, Manse Elementary School, 1020 E. Wilson Road.

The ticket price is $5 per person and the doors will open at 7 p.m.

All proceeds will go to the James family.

Eden hosts workshop

Eden Inc. of Nevada will host a Procurement Outreach Program workshop 6-9 p.m., May 5, Great Basin College, Room 110.

The Procurement Outreach Program assists businesses initiate or expand marketing efforts for goods and services.

They also work to increase the flow of contract dollars to Nevada businesses with necessary training to find, bid and win federal state and local government contracts.

Vidalia onions on sale

The Weepah Shriner's will be selling sweet Vidalia onions around May 5 at Ace Hardware, Smith's and Wal-Mart.

Computer users meet

The Pahrump Computer User Group will meet 1 p.m., May 5, Pahrump Community Library.

The program includes a presentation on managing the family budget and how to speed up your boot up.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

Glamour photo shoot

The Cinderella Girl Scholarship Program will have a glamour photo shoot by Enfocus Photography 10 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., May 3, at Seemoore's Too.

Costs must be pre-paid and are $19.95 for a complete session, plus a 10 x 13 portrait for one person. Additional guests are $9.95.

Appointments are available all day.

Pet adoption

The Nye County Animal Shelter will hold a pet adoption 10-2 p.m., May 3 at Hollywood Video, 240 S. Highway 160.

Adoption fees for dogs is $64 and the adoption fees for cats is $36.
