If the idea of celebrating Easter in the great outdoors is appealing, consider a commune with nature on the back of a horse.

Rising Star Equestrian Association (RSEA) and Faith Fellowship are planning a very special event to benefit Nathan Adelson Hospice in the form of a sunrise trail ride through Wheeler Wash.

Participants will start the day at 7 a.m. in the parking lot of Wheeler Springs Plaza with a light breakfast provided by Faith Fellowship and a sunrise Easter service.

The riders will saddle-up and hit the trail around 8:30 a.m. and head out for a tour of Wheeler Wash.

There will be a short spiritual ceremony before returning to Faith Fellowship where a lunch of chili and cornbread will await the riders.

RSEA is providing support staff for the riders to be sure no one gets left behind or lost.

The meals are being donated.

Activities for those attending the service but not participating in the trail ride will be provided by Faith Fellowship.

The cost of breakfast, lunch and the ride is $25 per person. Those joining the riders for lunch will be asked for a $5 donation.

All proceeds go to benefit Nathan Adelson Hospice.

The hospice is also looking for business and personal sponsors. Participation as a sponsor will run $100 and those interested may contact Jim Hannah, trail boss, at 702-327-5414.
