Edwin Ingram Smith

Edwin Ingram Smith, 91, passed away Feb. 28, 2008, in Pahrump.

He was born Oct. 16, 1917, in El Paso, Texas and was a resident of Pahrump for 27 years, having come from Parker Dam, Calif.

He worked for the metro water district and was a Merchant Marine.

Smith enjoyed gardening, socializing with friends, traveling and working on older cars. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

His sons Charles and Brice Smith; daughter Norma Lebaron; brother Clyde Smith; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive him.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., March 8 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on the corner of West and Wilson.

The family requests no flowers. (02/28/2008)

Gordon L. Bailey

Gordon L. Bailey, 68, passed away Feb. 27, 2008, in Las Vegas.

He was born Feb. 7, 1940, in Monrovia, Calif. He was a three-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Bakersfield, Calif.

He attended AA, Bakersfield College and was of the Lutheran faith.

He served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW and the Marine Corps League.

His daughters Lisa Bailey (Mike Parker) and Tina (Gary) Littles of Bakersfield; sons Kenny (Kelly) Bailey of Bakersfield and Gordon (Carrie) Bailey Jr. of Richland, Wash.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him.

His parents and a brother preceded him in death.

Services are at 11 a.m. today in Bakersfield at Green Lawn Mortuary, 2739 Panama Lane.

Gene Donald Berg

Gene Donald Berg, 58, passed away at his home March 2, 2008, in Townsend, Mont.

Gene was born July 6, 1949, to John and Agnes Berg in Ft. Totten, N.D.

Gene was an educator and administrator for Pahrump Valley High School until his retirement. Gene and his wife Marilee moved to Townsend after they retired.

Gene served in the Marine Corps from 1970 to 1973.

His wife Marilee Berg of Townsend; three sons, Rowdy Lee, Garett James, Aaron Michael, and five grand children survive him.

Graveside services were held March 5 at Radersberg Cemetery.

Townsend Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements. (03/02/2008)

Adeline Johnson Leasure

Adeline Johnson Leasure, 69, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on March 4, 2008, at St. Rose Hospital in Las Vegas.

She was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Triumph, Minn. She grew up in Minnesota where she married and raised four children.

Adeline has been living in Pahrump since 2004 with her husband of many years, Donovan Leasure. They were long-time residents of Vista, Calif.

She graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Women's Studies. She was formerly executive director of EVAC in Mesa, Ariz. and spent the last 25 years working with women in recovery.

Adeline was a grateful and sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1978.

Her loving husband Donovan Leasure of Pahrump; daughter Jeanne (Dave) Bruni of Denver, Colo.; sons Loren (Laurie) Mesedahl and Steve Mesedahl both of Duluth, Minn., David (Rena) Mesedahl of Chanhassen, Minn., Skip (Reme) Leasure of Spokane, Wash. and Randall Leasure of San Francisco, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, who were the lights of her life; brothers and sisters Janith Kathan, Raymond Johnson, all of Duluth, Diane Klindt of Superior, Wis., Tom (Judy) Johnson of Superior, Marge Johnson, Cathy (Jerry) Carlson, Marty (Lynn) Johnson all of Duluth and many nieces and nephews survive her.

She will be sadly missed by her family and many special friends.

Both parents; brother Vincent; infant twin siblings and her precious infant grandson, Cade David Mesedahl preceded her in death.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life at 6 p.m., March 7 at the Bob Rudd Community Center with fellowship to follow. (03/04/2008)
