The Pahrump Town Board approved a number of items to support future town events at its June 24 meeting.

* The word will get out about the Wild West Extravaganza with the board's approval of a $5,000 grant for advertisement.

The funding will be taken from the tourism room tax fund.

* Summer movies in the park, a big hit that began last year, will continue Saturday evenings in Honeysuckle Park.

The Parks and Recreation advisory board was awarded a $4,000 grant from the tourism room tax fund to continue showing evening movies in the park on a 70-foot, inflatable movie screen.

All movies are rated to be enjoyed by the whole family.

* The Parks and Recreation Board will also be a co-sponsor in ThreadzFest, to be held July 12 at Honeysuckle Park. The town board agreed to help fund the event for an amount not to exceed $2,000.
