Pahrump Valley's American Legion baseball team returns to action Saturday against Sierra Vista at Rivera Park in Las Vegas.

The doubleheader starts at 5 p.m., with the Trojans and Mountain Lions battling for one of the top four positions in the Silver Division playoff chase.

Pahrump Valley is 4-2, while Sierra Vista will be 6-0 going into a home game against Henderson Coronado, 1-4, Thursday.

Manager Brandon Bietar's team has been idle since June 18, when the Trojans swept the Bishop Gorman Titans 14-3 and 9-3 at Honeysuckle Park. Gorman dropped to 1-3 with those losses, but since then, the Titans have downed Chaparral 23-2 and Shadow Ridge 9-8 to move to 3-3.

Legacy is second at 7-1, with Foothill at 5-1 and Eldorado 6-2 in games played through June 22.

The Trojans will be at Paul Meyer Park in Las Vegas to play Foothill in a twin bill July 2. On July 3, Pahrump Valley plays at home against Coronado. Games July 7 are at home against Western.

Remaining Trojan games will be July 12, at Paul Meyer vs. Legacy; July 16, at home vs. Chaparral, and July 19, at Rivera Park vs. Shadow Ridge.
