FISHING
LAKE MEAD A pair of seven-pound striped bass were reeled in during a fishing tournament held over Father's Day weekend. One of the fish slammed a lure despite having a 14-inch striper in its throat. This hungry fish and several others were caught in the Overton Arm near Echo Bay. The area from Vegas Bay to Boxcar Cove continues to produce stripers and catfish, and the Boulder Beach area is giving up a few fish as well. Reports of top-water action have been coming in for the past couple of weeks. Stripers have also been hitting live shad and anchovies. WAYNE E. KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA The most recent word from Kirch is anglers are finding very good fishing for stocked rainbows and for largemouth bass. Bucketmouths have been hitting spinnerbaits and plastics while trout are taking PowerBait and spinners. |
