Shakespeare made simple

The Pahrump Community Library and the Tumbleweed Tales Society are sponsoring two workshops for Shakespeare fans.

"Shakespeare Readers Theater" will be 4:30-6 p.m. every Tuesday at the library, where the group reads and discusses Shakespeare's work.

"Shakespeare Made Simple" is 10 a.m.-noon every third Saturday of the month beginning June 21.

Sessions are free and are offered to help everyone unlock Shakespeare's language.

Turner Family concert

The Church of the Redeemed will present "The Turner Family" gospel group at 3 p.m. June 22 at the Bob Ruud Community Center.

The group will feature Jason Watson, bass guitarist for Toni Braxton and Brenda Turner, former writer and producer for Motown Records.

Drum circle w/Cirque de Soleil

There will be a one-day free drumming circle workshop with Cirque De Soleil's Kurt Rassmussen at 9:30 a.m. June 23.

The program will feature Brazilian-style drumming.

Space is limited. All ages are welcome, however, youth 12-18 will receive preference if the class fills.

Farmer's market

The UNR Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are sponsoring a farmer's market each Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon at Petrack Park, corner of Highway 160 and Basin Road.

All sale items must be homemade or homegrown.

The Amateur Radio Emergency Services will hold an annual Field Day June 28-29 in the parking lot of the Pahrump Nugget.
