All-stars named for playoffs

The Diamondbacks defeated the Yankees 10-5 in the Pahrump Little League Major Division Thursday, with Chad Uyeno pitching for the winners. He also homered, as did teammate Aukai Alameda (23), middle, and Yankee Donovin Lusher, bottom. Next up for Pahrump Little Leaguers are the District 4 playoffs.

Rosters will be announced for the Pahrump Little League baseball and fast-pitch softball teams that will play in post-season tournaments over the next few weeks.

Baseball teams will compete in the District 4 playoffs in Las Vegas.

The 9- and 10-year-olds will play at Doc Romeo Field in a tournament hosted by the Western Little League, starting June 28.

The Major Division All-Stars will play at Mountain Ridge, starting July 5.

The Junior All-Stars are in a District 4 tournament at Rainbow Family Park, with the Red Rock Little League the host. Dates will be announced.

Pairings will be announced for all of the double-elimination tournaments.

There will be no Senior Division team representing Pahrump this summer.

* The Pahrump Valley American Legion baseball team, 2-2, will be at home today against Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. The doubleheader will start at 5 p.m. at Honeysuckle Park.

Pahrump Valley swept visiting Cimarron-Memorial 10-2 and 13-3 Saturday, then lost a twin bill 10-8, 10-3 against Eldorado. The second game was stopped after five innings, after two PV players were ejected.
