Obama's regional problem, Part II
This will serve as a follow-up to the column about the self-interested hesitance of conservative Democrats in our part of the country to embrace Barack Obama. It is hardly an uncommon circumstance affecting Southern Democratic politicians and those who have tended to win Democratic presidential nominations over parts of the last four decades.

The tradition of neckties passes from mother to son
It was a typical son and mother, last possible moment exchange. As we prepared to pull out of the driveway on our way to my oldest's spring band concert, he mentioned that he had to wear the tie that was dangling around his neck, but had no idea how to tie it.
