Theater Guild 'Spitfire Grill'

The Pahrump Arts Council Theater Guild will present a warm-hearted musical that follows the challenges of a young woman just released from prison.

"The Spitfire Grill" will be on stage, 7 p.m. June 13-14, June 20-21 and 2 p.m. June 21 at the Pahrump Valley High School auditorium.

General admission is $10, students and PAC members $7 .

Poetry and coffee

Poetry and coffee is an ongoing poetry series where readings from the great poets alternate with open mike.

The next meeting will be 10 a.m.-noon June 14 at Lois Layne's Deli, corner of Dahlia Street and Basin Road, just off Highway 160.

This month's meeting will be hosted by Asya Ivanova.

Shakespeare made simple

The Pahrump Community Library and the Tumbleweed Tales Society are sponsoring two workshops for Shakespeare fans.

"Shakespeare Readers Theater" will be 4:30-6 p.m. every Tuesday at the library, where the group reads and discusses Shakespeare's work.

"Shakespeare Made Simple" is 10 a.m.-noon every third Saturday of the month beginning June 21.

Sessions are free and are offered to help everyone unlock Shakespeare's language.

Drum circle w/Cirque de Soleil

There will be a one-day free drumming circle workshop with Cirque De Soleil's Kurt Rassmussen 9:30 a.m. June 23.

The program will feature Brazilian-style drumming.

Space is limited. All ages are welcome, however, youth 12-18 will receive preference if the class fills.

Goldfield Days

The historic Goldfield Days Celebration and Land Auction will be Aug. 15-17.

There will be a parade, live music and street dancing, staged shoot-outs, crafts, antiques, bus tours of Goldfield, a western barbecue and much more.

Hoedown

The Knights of Columbus 10780 will present a hoedown 6-9 p.m. June 21 at the parish hall of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

There will be live music by Desert Knights, a menu of hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, sherbet, coffee and punch.

Beer, wine and soda will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the church office or at the door.

Gospel concert at winery

First Choice Pregnancy Center will sponsor a a "Concert Under the Stars" 7:30 p.m. June 14 at the winery amphitheater.

Music will be provided by gospel singer Annie Meadows.

Proceeds will benefit First Choice Pregnancy Center.

Pahrump Gunfighters

The Pahrump Gunfighters will be at Dusty Flats for the next performance at 1 p.m. June 29, Blagg and Stagecoach roads at the rear of the StageStop.

The Amateur Radio Emergency Services will hold an annual Field Day June 28-29 in the parking lot of the Pahrump Nugget.
