Racing at Death Valley Saturday

AMARGOSA VALLEY -- Seven classes will be included when stock car racing returns to Death Valley Raceway Saturday night.

Included will be IMCA modifieds, Super Stocks, mini stocks, 360 sprints, micro sprints, factory stocks and classic coupes.

Death Valley Raceway is a third-mile dirt track situated just south of Highway 373 between Lathrop Wells and Death Valley.

Dan Fitzgerald of Las Vegas has collected 376 points to lead the IMCA Modifieds after 10 races. He is followed by Ronnie Williams (334), Joe Kent (315), Ryan Cotrell (285) and Leland Hibdon (223).

Erroll and Eddie Sharron are tied for the micro sprint points lead with 183 each. Randy Knipschild, Erin and Gene Sharon are third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

Other leaders include Mark Dillie (Dwarf cars), Fred Hardy (bombers), Jonathan Mitchell (factory stocks), Michael Lysinger (mini stocks), Dan Snowden (super stocks), Randall Boren (classic coupes), Eric Slusher (mod minis) and Bobby Clark (360 Sprints).
