![]() Michael David Cowan Jr. Michael David Cowan Jr. known as "Red" to his friends, was taken to rest July 20, 2008, while at home. His heart failed due to complications from diabetes. He was born Nov. 14, 1963, in Whittier, Calif., and was a resident of Pahrump for a year-and-a-half. He loved the warmth of the desert. He grew up in Southern California where he lived until moving to Salem, Ore., where he met Heather, the love of his life. Michael loved the outdoors and as a boy, made rank of Life Scout. He was an electrician by trade and a certified pole climber for low voltage electricity. He is survived by his wife, Heather Pease Cowan; son Josiah; daughters Aliesha Dean and Michelle McKellip of Pahrump and Kelsha Dean of Hemit, Calif.; mother and father Linda and Gary Wilson of Pahrump; sister Cynthia Duncan of Las Vegas and brothers Ed and Keith Wilson, both of Yreka, Calif. Mike will be interned at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Pahrump Community Church, 1061 E. Wilson Road, corner of West Street and Wilson Road. Pastor Walker will preside. (07/20/2008) ![]() Bobby Mark Hall Bobby Mark Hall, 66, passed away July 19, 2008, in Pahrump. He was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Idaho Falls, Idaho and was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years. He was a retired heavy equipment field mechanic and worked for Graveway Construction. He was an avid bowler and bowled for several local teams. He was also a die-hard Steelers fan. His wife Leolla M. Hall; sons John (Jolynn) Hall of Hayward, Calif., Nick (Jan) Hall of Pleasanton, Calif., Matt (Lora) Hall of San Ramon, Calif., Jim and Steve Hendrix of Tulsa, Okla., Randy (Ovidia) Hendrix of Gettysburg, Pa., and Rustin (Rena) Hendrix of Clayton, Calif.; daughters Katherine Black of Haywood, Karen (Tom) Burke and Kim Hendrix, both of Tulsa; brothers Randy Reese of Pinole, Calif.; sisters Jan Etingoff of El Sobrante, Calif., and Claudia Byrd of Angleton, Texas; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren survive him. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Breanne. Services will be 12 p.m. Aug. 2 at Pahrump Family Mortuary. (07/19/2008) Albert L. Pinnick Albert L. Pinnick, 76, passed away July 28, 2008, in Pahrump. He was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Oklahoma and was a resident of Pahrump for 15 years, having come from Whittier, Calif. He was a construction worker, of the Christian faith and a member of the Church of the Pentecost. This is loving memory of Dad. His sons Allen, Richard and Harold Pinnick; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him. The viewing will be 3-5 p.m., followed by the funeral, Wednesday, July 30 at Lee Funeral Home, 720 Buol Lane. (07/28/2008)
Debra Ann Watts Banks Debra Ann Watts Banks, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, returned to her Heavenly Father on July 26, 2008. She was born to Marvin Ray and Sheila Mason Watts on June 22, 1966, in Whittier, Calif. Her family moved to Utah in 1971. She graduated from Dixie High School in 1984 and Dixie College in 1986. She married her high-school sweetheart, Kenneth Banks, on Sept. 26, 1987. Deb and Ken spent time in Texas while Ken served in the Air Force and their son De'Ken was born. They moved back to St. George, Utah where their daughter Kenbra was born and later moved to Cedar City, Utah to continue educational pursuits. Deb graduated with a degree in elementary education from Southern Utah State College in 1997 and later obtained a master's degree from Leslie College in 2001. She was employed as a school teacher for 12 years, (five years in Las Vegas, and the last seven years at Manse Elementary in Pahrump). She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in many capacities; primary president, relief society president, and many others. Her most recent calling was in the Young Women's Program. All youths were always welcome in her home. They always felt very comfortable around her and considered her to be another mother. She loved serving whether it be family, friends, work or community. Some of Debra's hobbies were vacationing with her family, spending time in Utah, gardening and serving others. She will be missed very much by all those fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Larry Banks; children De'Ken William and Kenbra Lyn Banks of Pahrump; mother Sheila Mason Watts of Brookside, Utah; sister Terri (Kelly) Berry of Lake Cormorant, Miss.; brothers Glen (Kasie) Watts of Hurricane, Utah; Mason (Jaci) Watts of Virgin, Utah and Michael (Erin) Watts of Washington, Utah. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many lifelong friends. Debra was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Ray Watts. Condolences and viewing will be 6-8 p.m. July 30 at Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road and 9-10:15 a.m. July 31 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 921 E. Wilson Road . Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. July 31 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will be at 6 p.m. PST and 7 p.m. MST at the Veyo, Utah City Cemetery. (07/26/2008) Billie Lee Olson Billie Lee Olson, 77, passed away July 25, 2008, in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Idaho and was a resident of Pahrump for 15 years, having come from California. She was a member of Al-anon and of the Protestant faith. Husband Donald Olson of Pahrump; daughters Judy and Jackie Gibson, both of Long Beach, Calif., Debbie (Jim) Broden of Bullhead City, and Cindy and Linda Olson, both of California; son David (Valerie) Olson and Dennis Olson, both of California; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and a grandchild. Services are within our hearts. (07/25/2008) |
