Harley Kulkin will remain a candidate for Nye County Commission District 3, visiting Judge Joe Bonaventure ruled Friday, dismissing a challenge of his residency.

New manager has contract for 118K
A contract was approved with Richard Osborne Sr. for the job of Nye County manager Tuesday, guaranteeing him a $118,000 annual salary, a probationary period of one year and a lump sum payment of one year's severance pay if he's terminated after that.


Building activity drops 37% during 2007-08 fiscal year
The Pahrump Building and Safety Department issued 37 percent fewer building permits in the fiscal year that ended June 30 than the year before.
