Deceased pets

First of all, let me start by saying that I am truly sorry for your loss.

I am an animal lover and dog owner and completely understand how devastating it can be to lose a pet.

What I do not understand, is how you sleep at night knowing that you placed your "beloved" Kayla to rest in a garbage dump.

If you truly had a heart, you would have buried her in your back yard or had her cremated to cherish her memories.

Instead, you dumped her as if she were "a piece of garbage."

If the employees at the landfill were compassionate and respectful, they would have suggested an alternative solution.

If you could not afford a proper resolution to lay Kayla to rest, then you should not be allowed to have pets.

Would you do the same to your child?

Shame on all involved.

REBECCA BERGMAN

I want a president...

I want a president that:

1. Will take sides with America!

2. Respects "Old Glory," the flag the entire word recognizes and all patriots love.

3. Respects our national anthem with all the "rockets" and "bombs" that have served us well.

4. Believes in the "Pledge of Allegiance" and "One Nation Under God."

5. Knows the importance of a strong military and has the experience to lead.

6. Finally, I want a president that remembers the insight and dedication of our Founding Fathers. I want a president who understands that our Founding Fathers did not want to create a nation "separate from God," but one founded with His help and blessings.

God bless America and God bless our troops.

Trying again

As you know, the VFW commander, the incoming new commander and my idea of a recycling location at the VFW was unfortunately shot down by a couple of negative minds.

Southern Pahrump is in dire need of a recycling facility.

My next suggestion would be Terrible's Lakeside Casino and RV Park.

Most RVers will recycle if given the opportunity and means to do so. Lakeside has the capacity.

Imagine the recyclables possible just from the RV Park. Then toss in the aluminum cans and glass bottles from the Casino, and we're talking huge tonnage.

Another possibility would be Mountain Falls Golf Course.

Letter of 'thanks'

We would like to thank everyone that came to our rescue Friday afternoon July 18.

We cannot thank you all enough for your outstanding care and assistance.

A special thank you to Judith Listen at the residence and a very kind gentleman Tom Wright.
