PRIMARY ELECTIONS 5th District Court Judge
DEPARTMENT I Judge John P. Davis Incumbent Judge John P. Davis is hoping to continue serving as 5th District Judge after 18 years of service. Prior to serving in Nye County, Davis spent five years as a District Court judge in Lyon County. He earned his bachelor's degree in mine engineering from the Colorado Mining School in 1956 and his law degree from the University of California in 1972. Bob Beckett Nye County District Attorney Bob Beckett has been a resident of Pahrump for 13 years and has been District Attorney since 1995. Beckett graduated with honors from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He earned his law degree from Oklahoma City University and spent several years as a criminal defense attorney in Las Vegas. Upon moving to Pahrump he became a prosecutor for both civil and criminal law cases. Marla Zlotek Senior Deputy District Attorney Marla Zlotek has been serving Nye County since 1995. She was assigned to the criminal division from 1995 to 2001. From 2001 to 2006, Zlotek served as deputy district attorney assigned to the civil division. Zlotek graduated cum laude from Loyola Law School in New Orleans. DEPARTMENT II Judge Robert Lane Fifth District Judge Robert Lane is running uncontested for his third term on the bench. Lane was elected to the new judicial seat in Pahrump in 2000 and was re-elected in 2002. Lane has been a resident of Pahrump since 1993 and prior to being judge, worked as a deputy district attorney. Lane earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and his law degree from the University of Utah. |
