Nevada Supreme Court Seat "B"

* Don Chairez first donned judicial robes in 1994 when he was appointed Court Judge. He was later elected to the seat and continued to serve until 1998.

Prior to being a judge, Chairez served as a Deputy District Attorney for Clark County.

Chairez has taken a strong stance on property rights and help to author the Peoples' Initiative to Stop the Taking of Our Land, also known as the PISTOL initiative.

* Nancy Allf was first appointed as a settlement judge for the Nevada Supreme Court in 1998, a post she held until 2007.

In 2005, Allf was also appointed to the short trial program of the Eight Judicial District Court for Clark County.

She was also appointed to the Business Court task force by the Nevada Supreme Court in 2000 and the pro bono compliance committee in September of 2002.

She was also a lawyer representative to the United States District Court Ninth Circuit from 1998 to 2002.

* Kris Pickering has been an elected member of the American Law Institute since 1987.

Pickering served as a settlement judge for the Nevada Supreme Court since 1997.

She is also a member of the Bar Associations for Clark and Washoe Counties.

Pickering argued her first case before the Nevada Supreme Court in 1981 and since then has had experience with the state's highest court in a range of issues from state taxes to torts or civil wrongs.

* Deborah Schumacher has been a district court judge in the Second Judicial Court, District five since 1997.

Schumacher also presides over the district's Juvenile Drug Court, which she helped to initiate.

In addition, is a faculty member of the National Judicial College's continuing education program.

She has participated in a number of family and children programs in Nevada including the children's justice task force, the Professionalization of Foster Care in Nevada task force and was an ad hoc member of an interim legislative subcommittee that examined juvenile delinquency laws.

Nevada Supreme Court Seat "D"

* Incumbent Mark Gibbons has been a Nevada Supreme Court Justice since being elected in 2002 and became Chief Justice in January of 2008.

He was first elected as a judge in 1996 when he began presiding over Department 7 of the Clark County District Court.

In 1998, Gibbons was the presiding judge of the civil division of Clark County District Court.

While serving as a state supreme court justice, Gibbons was appointed chairman of the Jury Improvement Implementation committee.

He also chairs the Senior Judge Program and the Specialty Court Funding committee.

* Thomas Frank Christensen was appointed as a settlement judge to the Nevada Supreme Court in 1999 and since then has mediated 58 cases.

He has practiced law in personal injury, products liability, insurance bad faith and wrongful death.

Christensen has also served as an arbitrator for Nevada District Court since 1992.

In addition, he has received advanced appellate mediation training from the state supreme court.
