Courthouse design expected Aug. 15
Three firms were chosen by Nye County commissioners Tuesday to submit preliminary proposals to design and build an addition to the Pahrump Justice Facility at 1520 E. Basin Ave.

Murder suspect nabbed
TONOPAH -- Las Vegas Metro Officers Thursday, apprehended Jeffrey Schilling, 48, a suspect in the murder of Denise Adams, 54, of Tonopah.


Commission OKs crane company expansion
Officials from Lewis Equipment Co. were denied permission once before to expand their equipment yard on South Dandelion Road, but developer George Harris was able to rezone property for them at the Nye County Commission meeting Tuesday.

A contract with Nevada Health Centers Inc. for operation of the Beatty and Amargosa Valley clinics that was allowed to expire June 30, was renewed by Nye County Commissioners Thursday, but for only 90 days while proposals are received from any interested medical providers.
