LAS VEGAS -- The Pahrump Majors lost to Lone Mountain 13-3 in Tuesday baseball tournament action at Mountain Ridge here and were eliminated from the 2008 Major Division All-Star Tournament.

Doug Booth and Spencer Mestas both hit home runs in the second inning of the July 8 game, backing up the pitching of Brian Highland and Kasen Muncrief, but it was a case of too little against the powerful Lone Mountain team.

Lone Mountain ended up facing Mountain Ridge for the championship.

Mountain Ridge came out on top 5-2 July 12 and will head to the state playoffs in San Bernardino, Calif.

In their first two games, the Majors, Jonathan Arriola pitched well against Spring Valley as Pahrump rebounded from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game.

But the team went down in extra innings to lose 6-4.

Arriola and Highland combined for nine strikeouts. Key hits were made by Aukai Alameda, Muncrief and Chad Uyeno.

But two days later, July 7, Pahrump snapped back to remain in the tournament after winning over Summerlin South 4-3.

Knowing another loss would end the play, Uyeno struck out seven over six innings, just two batters short of a complete game.

In the fourth, with the score 3-0, Pahrump's batters limbered up. Booth cranked one into left field, Uyeno banged one out to center, scoring Booth, and then with Uyeno on base, Mestas came in and slugged a home run into right field to tie it up.

Kyle Walker scored in the fifth to put the Majors ahead.

Alex Morales closed out the last two batters to secure the win.
