Correction
In the Friday, June 27 edition of the Pahrump Valley Times, several errors were made in the article "Car fires increase with hot weather." If you see smoke and suspect a fire, do not open the hood. However, if your car breaks down and there is not a fire, opening the hood is a known method of signaling distress. If it is unsafe to open the hood, opening the trunk instead can also signal distress. The Times regrets the error. |
