OVERTON -- The Pahrump Valley boys' basketball team got a four-point play from Darius Dolly in the final five seconds of overtime Tuesday, to claim a spectacular 59-58 victory against homestanding Moapa Valley n the Southern Nevada Class 3-A League.

Dolly, who finished with 19 points, fired in a 3-pointer and was fouled. Dolly stepped to the line for the free throw and added to the drama as his shot bounced off the rim three times before falling through.

The win was the first in three league games for the Trojans (13-10), who played Boulder City Thursday night and will be at home today to take on defending league, regional and state champion Las Vegas Faith Lutheran (7:30 p.m.).

The Trojans opened with a 7-0 spurt to start the game against the Pirates. The Pirates righted their ship to trail just 11-9, and later bombed in a 3-pointer at the buzzer to take a 26-20 halftime lead.

The Trojans struggled in the third period, falling behind 34-24 with 3:46 remaining. A 3-pointer by Dolly at the buzzer cut the Pirate lead to 44-37, going into the final eight minutes of regulation.

The Pirates led 48-43 with 1:27 left in the game. The Trojans closed with a 5-0 run to force overtime.

Following back and forth action, the Pirates took a 57-55 lead with 40 seconds remaining. It was 58-55 with 12.7 seconds to go.

Dolly held the ball for the final shot and was knocked down as his 3-pointer hit the bottom of the net with 5.5 seconds left.
