![]() Robyn Louise Barrett Robyn Louise Barrett, 44, passed away Jan. 14, 2008 in Pahrump. She was born Dec. 25, 1963 in Peru, Ill., and was a seven-year resident of Parump, having come from Las Vegas. She was a member of Narcotics Anonymous, of the Catholic faith and a church member. Her parents, Mary and Richard Noonan of Pahrump; sister Rhonda (George) Ordonez of Pahrump; brother Steve (Lori) Noonan of Las Vegas; daughters Krystal (Brett) Barrett of Pahrump and Brittany Barrett of Pahrump and one grandchild survive her. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Eileen Bottomley. The service will be at 11:30 a.m., Feb. 1 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. (01/14/2008) ![]() Teresa M. Main Teresa M. Main, 48, passed away Jan. 17, 2008 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was diagnosed in 2004 and became an advocate for cancer awareness and she shared her cancer experience with many others, inspiring and encouraging those she met. She grew up in Soldotna, Alaska and worked at the family business, Main Equipment Rental. She eventually opened her own store, Froggi's Party Rentals. In 1989 she returned to college and earned a bachelor's degree from Brooks Institute of Photography and then went to work for the Las Vegas Metro Police Department as a Crime Scene Analyst. She took pride in her work and strove for her work to be a voice for victims of violent crime. She was an accomplished beader and earned the nick-name "Johnny Apple Bead" because of the numerous individuals she taught to bead as well as the wonderful pieces of beadwork she generously gave to family and friends. She was a loving aunt and her nieces and nephews will sorely miss their beloved "Aunt T." Her parents Larry and Virginia Main of Pahrump; sisters Linda (Tim) Mattoon of Pahrump, Kathryn (Charles) Sharp of Nampa, Idaho; nieces Kimberly Rowell, Brenda Anderson, Laura Anderson; nephews Jeffrey Anderson and Matthew Mattoon and her work family at CSI survive her. No formal services are planned. Her family and co-workers are forming a team to walk in Teresa's honor at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on May 3, in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation under the team CSI for a Cure. (01/17/2008) Edith E. Fenton Edith E. Fenton, 87, of Arcanum, Ohio passed away at home Jan. 20, 2008. Edith lived in Las Vegas and Pahrump from 1976 to 1993. She worked at Von Tobel Hardware in Las Vegas and volunteered with RSVP in Pahrump. She is survived by her children Martha J. Noggle of Greenville, Ohio, Garry A. and Linda Fenton, of Saratoga, Ind., Marjorie J. Perrin of Las Vegas, Kerry "Joe" and Shirley Fenton of Arcanum, Ohio, Daniel T. Fenton of St. Louis, Mo., and Marsha J. and Bryon Skaggs of Batavia, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 13 great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Chester A. Fenton. Visitation was 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Kreitzer Funeral Home in Arcanum, Ohio, Funeral services were 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, at Kreitzer Funeral Home in Arcanum, with Pastor Joe Winter officiating. Burial was at the New Lisbon Cemetery in Union City, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the State of the Heart Hospice, 1350 Broadway, Greenville, Ohio 45331. (01/20/2008) ![]() Mary Gwin Mary Gwin passed away Jan. 21, 2008 in Pahrump. She was born Sept. 27, 1922 in Oklahoma. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her life was dedicated to God, her family and her friends. Not a day went by she did not testify of the Lord's love. She was a woman who not only did the twist, but who also lighted every dark room with her radiant personality. Mary was a true blessing to her family and to all her friends, coast to coast, from many travels. Mary will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Due to her relationship with Jesus Christ, her life was truly a light to others. She is survived by her husband Francis Gwin; daughter Sheri Goss; grandchildren David Goss and Tana Goss; great-grandchildren Aliyah Goss, Elijah Goss and Jazlyn Mary Goss and a sister Lea Nelson. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26 at Choice Hill Baptist Church, 340 W. Mesquite Ave. Pastor Carl England Jr. will present. (01/21/2008) Carl 'Butch' Nitsche Carl "Butch" Nitsche, 71, passed away Jan. 20, 2008 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 12, 1936 in Absorokee, Mont., and had lived in Pahrump for six months after having traveled back and forth from Pahrump to Alaska. He was a consulting field engineer on the Alaska Pipeline Project and a member of the VFW. He retired from the U.S. Navy. Butch loved to hunt and fish and was a real Montana outdoors man. His wife Virginia of Pahrump; sons Mickel and Kurt Nitsche, both of Arizona; daughters Toni Denise Nitsche of Washington and Samantha Nitsche of Arizona; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him. Butch had many friends who will miss him dearly along with his family. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Feb. 2 at the VFW. (01/20/2008) ![]() Donald J. Hollingsworth Donald J. Hollingsworth, 77, passed away Jan. 19, 2008 of natural causes at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 16, 1930 in Milo, Iowa and was a 27-year resident of Pahrump. Don was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 525 for 27 years and was retired from the Nevada Test Site. Don is survived by his sisters Norma (Leland) Borchert and Lanelle Roberts, both of Iowa; three children Ladema Fowler of Nevada, Ricky Hollingsworth of Nevada and D.J. Hollingsworth of Tennessee; four step-children Steve (Lori) Leege of California, Don (Jackie) Lanning of Nevada, Dan (Cindy) Lanning of Missouri and Alice (Rick) Wiseley of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Don was a kind and loving father, grandfather and friend, He always had a good joke or a story to tell. His wonderful sense of humor and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His wife of 29 years, Virginia M. Hollingsworth, preceded him to Heaven on Jan. 18, 2008 He was also preceded in death by sons Courtland Holiingsworth and Kurtis Hollingsworth. Services will be private. (01/19/2008) ![]() Virginia M. Hollingsworth Virginia M. Hollingsworth, 72, passed away Jan. 18, 2008 of natural causes at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas. She was born May 1, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa and was a 27-year resident of Pahrump. She was a homemaker. She is survived by sisters Dolly (Jim) Wood of Arkansas and Pat Sherman of California and brother Elmer (Arlene) Vos of Iowa; children Don (Jackie) Lanning of Nevada, Dan (Cindy) Lanning of Missouri and Alice (Rick) Wiseley of Arizona; four step-children Steve (Lori) Leege of California, Don (Jackie) Lanning of Nevada, Dan (Cindy) Lanning of Missouri and Alice (Rick) Wiseley of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband of 29 years, Donald J. Hollingsworth followed her to Heaven Jan. 19, 2008. She was preceded in death by brothers Kenny and Calvin Howe of Iowa and step-sons Courtland and Kurtis Hollingsworth of Las Vegas. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was always there if you needed a shoulder to cry on, if you needed someone to talk to or someone to share a good laugh with. Even at the end of her life, she never lost her sense of humor or the fire inside that made her the wonderful lady we all knew and loved. She will be deeply missed. Services will be private. (01/18/2008) ![]() Ruby Lee Turnbeaugh Ruby Lee Turnbeaugh was called home to be with the Lord on Jan. 20, 2008. She was born Jan. 16, 1927 in Rosenburg, Texas. Ruby is survived by her husband Billy Jack Turnbeaugh of Pahrump; brother Oley Premeaux of Newton, Texas; daughters Mrs. Cheryl Lee Sipes of Show Low, Ariz. and Linda Kaye Pfeiffer or Turlock, Calif.. She also has two sons; Rudy Dale Pfeiffer of Amboy, Wash. and William "Travis" Turnbeaugh of Pahrump. She has 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her oldest son Phillip John Pfeiffer; brother Wilson Premeaux and her parents Euclide and Lillia (Desormeaux) Premeaux. Though Ruby has had meaningful accomplishments in her life, we fondly remember her as the matriarch of the family, who loved nothing more than being with her husband, children and grandchildren; loving laughing and adoring them all. She is dearly loved, will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts for eternity. Private service will be held at a family member's home. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests all donations be made "in memory of Ruby Turnbeaugh" to the charity of your choice. (01/20/2008) |
