Cynthia Boykin, 49, died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 160 and Blosser Ranch Road Friday, Jan. 18.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:40 p.m. when Boykin, northbound in a gold Dodge Ram on Highway 160, lost control of the vehicle.

According to preliminary investigation by Highway Patrol, Boykin allowed the vehicle to travel off the right road edge.

She then over-corrected, causing the Dodge to rotate across the northbound travel lane and enter the southbound lane, directly into the path of an oncoming silver GMC utility vehicle.

Boykin was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The driver of the GMC was transported to Desert View Regional Medical Center for treatment.
