Love of Life Adult Care, a not-for-profit organization, will open in Pahrump.

"God put this on my heart to open a care facility and I am determined to do it," said Director Lee McNeese. "It breaks my heart to think how some seniors are treated in nursing facilities.

The facility will offer in-house care for five residents, services in the homes of clients and adult day care.

Services will include: meal preparation, help with shopping, travel with clients to doctor appointments, cleaning and companionship; most of the services that seniors need and that loved ones may not be able to provide. Weekly progress reports will be provided to family.

The facility is for people who can't get around as they used to, and is focused on love, dignity and respect for its clients.

Some of the services Love of Life will provide will be in the form of newsletters to the friends and family of clients.

Clients will have activities they help choose, they'll watch old movies, listen to old radio shows, travel to church and help plan the menu, which is based on a diabetic diet. There will be other activities to help increase mental acuity and physical flexibility.

In addition, the clients will be invited to record their life experience, Director McNeese said. "Documenting their life history is very satisfying to seniors."

"We are seeking funding and volunteers to finish the renovation of a 2600 sq. ft. property with one acre of land," said McNeese. "We still need to finish the drywall, the conversion of a bathroom to a walk-in shower, landscaping and installing a fence."

The renovation is about half finished.

"We also need help to pay for the state licensing fees which are pretty high. We will pay interest above what a certificate of deposit or a savings account would pay and plan to repay any loans in one to two years at most. Loans would be secured by the property which has equity. Any help would be appreciated. Please call 775-727-1459."
