Hopeful Hunter to campaignPVT
U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., author of the bill to build a border fence, will bring his presidential campaign to Pahrump Wednesday (today). Hunter is scheduled to appear from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Skate Zone, 1261 E. Calvada Blvd. While some Democratic candidates are already dropping out of the presidential race, Hunter is continuing the campaign despite finishing with less than 1 percent of the vote in Iowa and New Hampshire. Hunter lives in a border community in east San Diego County. His efforts resulted in the installation of 59 miles of fencing and border infrastructure in San Diego County. Hunter then wrote the Secure Fence Act, signed into law by President Bush Oct. 26, 2006, extending the San Diego border fence 854 miles across California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. |
