MARK SMITH / PVT
Nye County commissioners amended an ordinance on sexually-oriented businesses Jan. 2 geared toward Adult Superstores. It mandates line-of-sight restrictions on viewing areas. Employees with at least a 35 percent interest in the business would have to be listed on the license for the business. A 30-day license application period was also imposed with fees. Media Shops Inc. is involved in a federal lawsuit against Nye County over the sexually-oriented business ordinance first enacted after the adult video business opened on Emery Street in Pahrump in 2005. The amended ordinance becomes effective Jan. 21.
