Beer runners can't evade law

The Nye County Sheriff's Office has arrested three people who allegedly took part in "beer runs," or stealing beer at the Horizon Market on 2020 Pahrump Valley Blvd.

Three people, including an unnamed 16-year-old juvenile, were booked on charges of burglary, petit larceny, and conspiracy for their alleged involvement in a number of beer runs that took place across the valley from June to September of last year.

The unnamed juvenile was identified by video surveillance as being responsible for two of the burglaries, the sheriff's office reported.

Kelly O'Brien, 21, and Joshua Propps, 25, were additionally identified as being involved in other burglaries at separate times.

Propps, in fact, had previously been arrested for his portion of the crime, according to a sheriff's office press release.

The juvenile is being charged by the Juvenile Probation Department.

O'Brien is being held on $15,632 bail.

Propps' bail amount was not listed.

Never too old to steal

Maurice Grippo, 73, was arrested and booked on a burglary charge on Friday, Dec. 4 when he allegedly attempted to steal merchandise from Wal-Mart.

Nye County Sheriff's Office Dep. Tidmarsh was dispatched to the store at when Wal-Mart's asset protection reportedly observed Tidmarsh, a Wal-Mart employee, attempting to take over $70 of unpaid merchandise from the store.

Tidmarsh is being held on $5,000 bail.
