Gennie Wallace Genevieve E. Wallace, 54, passed away Jan. 1, 2008 at Nathan Adelson Hospice She was a resident of Pahrump for 22 years. She was a wife of 26 years and best friend to her husband Pete Wallace. Gennie was a NASCAR fan, especially the Busch brothers, whom she knew from the old Bob Ruud Memorial Speedway. She loved hot air ballooning, the Kansas City Chiefs and her Chargers. Gennie was an animal lover and cherished her five dogs, Bobby, Layla, Gaylen, Copper and Kiley. Her husband Pete; cousins Jack, Ruth, Joe and Jason all of Pahrump; and Jody and Brianna of Overland Park, Kan. survive her. Per her request, there will be "no services and no boo-hooing." A celebration of her life will be held later this spring at her home in Pahrump. (01/01/08) ![]() Melvin VanCleave Services for Melvin VanCleave, 85, who passed away Jan. 2, 2008 in Las Vegas will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 5 at Pahrump Family Mortuary located at 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road. He was born Nov. 3, 1922 in Detriot, Mich., and was a resident of Pahrump for the past 18 years, having come from Oak Park, Mich. He was employed by Borman as a metal smith, retiring in 1989. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. His sons Bradley (Michelle) of Powell, Tenn., Douglas of Berkley, Mich., Gary of Holly, Mich., and Thomas of Williamston, Mich.; daughters Kim (Nick) of Berkley, Mich., Nancy (Ken) of Pahrump; and brother William (Kathy) of Somerset, Ky.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him. His wife and three brothers preceded him in death. Pahrump Family Mortuary handled the arrangements. (01/02/08) |
