Edric Kerr, 50, was arrested and booked on a charge of possession of marijuana Sunday, Dec. 30. The Nye County Sheriff's Office was asked by the Nevada Highway Patrol to assist in searching the vehicle Kerr was driving on Highway 95 near mile marker 30.

According to the sheriff's office, illegal drugs had already been located but the highway patrol troopers wanted K-9 assistance for a more thorough search.

K-9 Dep. Hoss searched the interior of the vehicle and additional marijuana was found in the car's center console.
