13 of 33 drug suspects arrested
By CHRISTINA EICHELKRAUT
Various divisions of the Nye County Sheriff's Office were kept busy during the closing days of 2007, apprehending 13 individuals on felony arrest warrants Friday, Dec. 28. But the arrested suspects are only a fraction of 33 suspected drug dealers and traffickers in the Pahrump Valley facing approximately 200 charges brought against them by the Scorpion Task Force at the conclusion of a months-long investigation. Arrest warrants have been obtained for all the involved individuals. The street crimes unit and Dep. James Chandler of the patrol division spent last Friday assisting the narcotics task force in executing warrants on as many of the suspects as they could locate. Since three of them had already been arrested on those charges, that left 30 more for the deputies to find. Thirteen were located and duly arrested, resulting in a day the sheriff's office described as "extremely successful" in a press release. It was also discovered that another one of the suspects had recently been sentenced to prison for other charges; a hold will be placed on him for his extradition back to Nye County to face the charges here. The Scorpion Task Force, street crimes unit and the sheriff's office overall will continue to seek the remainder of the suspects. "We will not list their names here, as we do not want to give them the advantage," the press release stated. "For the rest of the drug dealers and traffickers in the Pahrump Valley, you can continue to wonder if these warrants might just be for you." The charges against the suspects range from sales of a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance to conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. The suspects arrested on Dec. 28 are: Rhonda Ordonez, George Ordonez, Elizabeth Donnelly, Sheldon Johnson, Ralph Medina, Rhonda Cassle, Jerry Sheperd, Anthony Schlatter, Cynthia Satter, Bryan Andy, Lisa Sheats, Joseph Savage, Noe Perez. Richard Mcfadden was found in Nevada State Prison. "And to the rest of you drug dealers and traffickers, have a good weekend and we'll see you in 2008," the press release said. |
