Golf Jan. 4-6

The 45th annual Furnace Creek Invitational Golf Tournament will be played Friday through Sunday on the Furnace Creek Golf course, in Death Valley National Park.

A practice date has been scheduled for Thursday; call for tee times. A two-person scramble, with a shotgun start at 2 p.m., is slated for Friday. An 18-hole, better ball of two event, is slated Saturday, with a shotgun start of 8:30 a.m.

On Sunday, it's a men's and mixed Chapman/alternate shot tournament, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The daily entry fee is $45 and includes golf, cart and prizes. A minimum of two days play is required.

Farmers Cup

The sixth annual Farmers Cup Adult-Junior Golf Series will be contested Feb. 10, March 16, April 6 and May 4 at the Mountain Falls Golf course.

Junior players, in age groups 6-8, 9-11, 12-14 and 15-18, and adults will form teams for the series, sponsored by the Worden Agency.
