Donna's Dance Studio is offering inexpensive snatches of luxury between noon and 2 p.m. to those who wouldn't necessarily have the opportunity to enjoy them during the work week.

Pampering essential oil massages, chair massage, yoga and Pilates are available in short bursts during the lunch hour and early afternoon.

Therapeutic chair massage for as few as five minutes or for as long as you like will only cost $1.50 per minute.

Essential oils can be administered as either a soothing foot bath or as part of a massage for $10, and 20-minute yoga sessions run continuously throughout the time period for $5 each.

A stop by the dance studio during the lunch hour is a fun, luxurious way to pamper and promote well being. The combination of therapies, or any one by itself, gives a wonderful kick to mid-week blues or a Friday de-stress solution.

"It's like going and getting your nails done and your hair done to feel better, but this is internal to help you feel better" says Chandini Breathwaite, yoga instructor for the 20-minute yoga sessions.

No work escape would be complete without getting a massage. The lunchtime mini-massages are upper body: shoulders and arms, neck and back. The chair is an upright model, perfect for target stress-busting.

Marcelino Martinez is an accredited, certified massage therapist since 1996. He specializes in muscular therapy, and tries to restore a state of wellness to his clients. He routinely uses stress relief methods based on Shiatsu technique, but also practices several different approaches to massage therapy depending on the special circumstances of his client. He is very knowledgeable and precise about massage technique. A 10 minute relaxing massage is guaranteed to help revive the workday.

Patricia Raches is better known as "The Oil Lady." She individualizes the treatment to each customer by discussing the qualities of the oils being offered in her therapies, allowing the customer to choose an oil to suit the need.

Raches gives essential oil treatments in the feet, generally because the feet absorb the oil very quickly and spread to the entire body within 5 seconds. Combined with massage the treatments can be very effective and soothing. She can also check your pH level and recommend different uses for the essential oils. The oils are for sale individually.

Different oil blends can be used to treat many different symptoms of the body, including health conditions like pain, inflammation, stress, circulation, immune system disorders and mood enhancement. Oil blends come with names like "valor" to enhance your ability to confront tough situations or "pane away" to help any physically painful symptoms a client may suffer.

Raches began to learn about essential oils in 2002 when she met a herbologist who inspired her to journey into the art of using essential oils in daily life and in healing.

Breathwaite instructs the 20-minute yoga session which are surprisingly satisfying given the short duration. Twenty minutes of power stretch yoga is challenging, while the same time period of gentle stretching is very relaxing.

Session starts with salutation to the sun at noon, followed by breathing and meditation, gentle stretch yoga, stress release sitting, power stretch yoga and lastly, Pilates.

Mary Berg can't do regular exercise because of a medical condition. She likes coming to chair yoga, or "stress release sitting" to build up her muscles as part of her therapy. She says, "It's working. I'm getting stronger."

Breathwaite studied yoga at the Indian School of Yoga in Southern India and also at the British Wheel of Yoga in the United Kingdom. She teaches various yoga classes in Pahrump, including regular classes at First Move Fitness and the children's Indian dance classes at Donna's Dance Studio on Friday afternoons.

Different packages are also available with discounts. Pay upfront and receive a 10 percent discount off of 5 yoga sessions or 20 percent off of 10 sessions. Massage packages are also discounted if you pay in advance. Use them or give them as gifts.

Donna's Dance studio is centrally located at 401 S. Frontage Rd. Suite #3, in the Provenza complex.
