Former Town Manager Dave Richards found some time to stop by for public comment during the Feb. 27 town board meeting before starting his long drive up to Hoonah, Alaska, and bid a fond farewell to his staff, supporters, and friends.
"I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the residents of Pahrump who have shown so much support for me both morally and formally," Richards said. "Some of them have written letters to Hoonah, others have walked up at Wal-Mart or on the street and said hello and thanked me for the job I did as town manager and have really touched my heart."
Richards went on to thank members of the staff and several regular board meeting attendees by name for their support and friendship.
"And to you, town board, I'd like to say no hard feelings on my part," Richards said. "I'm looking forward to a new start in Hoonah, Alaska, and I wish all the success as well in your search for a new town manager," Richards said.
