Renaissance reenactment comes to Petrack Park
This weekend, Petrack Park and McCullough Arena will be transformed into a medieval European Renaissance kingdom. The SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) is coming to Pahrump to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the Barony of Starkhafn: a barony is a large local group, and Starkhafn (pronounced stark-hafen) means dry place in Old Norse. So it refers to the SCA chapter of Southern Nevada.

Lunch hour time for well-being
Donna's Dance Studio is offering inexpensive snatches of luxury between noon and 2 p.m. to those who wouldn't necessarily have the opportunity to enjoy them during the work week.

Bass nominated as small businessman
Al Bass, founder of Visiting Angels, a non-medical home care company, has been nominated for small businessman of the year by the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce and SCORE, a nonprofit organization offering business counseling.

Richard goes with no hard feelings
Former Town Manager Dave Richards found some time to stop by for public comment during the Feb. 27 town board meeting before starting his long drive up to Hoonah, Alaska, and bid a fond farewell to his staff, supporters, and friends.

Democrats picked up 588 additional registered voters in Nye County since Jan. 1, according to figures from the Nye County clerk's office.
