Fiber Arts Show this weekend

Fiber Arts 2008, the Pahrump Arts Council's 12th annual quilt and needlework show and sale, will be held February 22 - 24 at the Bob Ruud Community Center, corner of Highway 160 and Basin Road in Pahrump.

Demonstrations on a variety of fiber arts techniques and topics will take place throughout the weekend in Room B at the center.

The following is a schedule of demonstrations to see.

Friday, February 22:

Table A: 2-4 p.m.: Wilhelmina Moses: tatting.

4-5 p.m., Victoria Brazzle, fabric marbling.

5-6 p.m., Carol Wertsbaugh, duct tape wallet.

Table B: 1-2 p.m., Judy Toll, paint sticks.

2-3: p.m., Joan Crim, folding paper boxes.

3-4:30 p.m., Lin Stone, ribbon flowers.

5-6 p.m., Charlotte Rowland, paper wallets.

Saturday, February 23:

Table A: 9-1 p.m., Janet Thoms, raw edge applique.

10-11 a.m., Nancy Shallenberger, red work.

11:30-12:30 p.m., Judy Toll, puff paint.

12:30-2 p.m., Crochet Guild of America, crochet.

2-3 p.m., Carol Wertsbaugh, duct tape wallet.

3:30-5 p.m., Crewel World Crochet Group, crochet.

Table B: 9-11 a.m., Eva Scherf, spinning.

11 a.m.-noon, Lynn Lake and Charlise Butler, Dutch embroidery.

Noon-1 p.m., Arlene Riddle, Brazilian embroidery.

1-2 p.m., Mary Carroll, painting lace.

2-3 p.m., Charlotte Rowland, Swedish weaving.

3 p.m., Awards, judged competitions and People's Choice, and drawing for the quilt hand made by Shadow Mountain Quilters to benefit the PAC building fund.
