Las Vegas Faith Lutheran's boys and Yerington's girls lead the final Pahrump Valley Times Nevada High School Class 3-A basketball ratings for the 2007-2008 season.

The Crusaders, the defending state champions, won their fifth straight Southern League regular-season title and open the post-season Thursday against Mesquite Virgin Valley at Del Sol High School in Las Vegas.

Yerington's girls' team, a state semifinalist in the 2006-2007 season, won 26 of 30 games and shared the Northern League title with Dayton (18-3) this season. A tie-breaker gave Dayton the No. 1 seed for the Northern regionals which begin Thursday. Yerington's girls, however, got the nod as the Times ratings leaders.

Pahrump Valley's boys are ranked seventh in the final poll after finishing their season at 17-13. Incline (20-7) is second, with Yerington (21-8) third and Dayton (17-8) fourth.

Pahrump Valley's girls (23-7) are No. 2, with Mesquite Virgin Valley (24-3) third and Dayton fourth.

In the Class A ratings, Round Mountain's Central Division-champion girls are ranked ninth; the Knights went 10-0 in division games, including two wins against perenniallly-tough Lund.

No boys team from Nye County is in the 1-A list.

Lake Mead Christian Academy (27-1) tops the 1-A boys' list, with 19-time state champion Virginia City (21-4) second. Owyhee's defending girls champions (17-6) top the list, with Pahranagat Valley Alamo (21-5) second.

Bishop Gorman's boys (24-4) and girls (24-4) are the Class 4-A ratings leaders, with Reno second on both lists. Reno's boys are 21-5, while its girls are 25-2.

Las Vegas Mojave (25-1) is third in the boys' ratings, while Centennial's Lady Bulldogs (26-3) are No. 3.

In Class 2-A, the ratings champions were the Yerington Rite of Passage boys (21-5) and the Needles, Calif., girls (25-3). Lincoln County's boys (17-6) and Battle Mountain's girls (19-5) are ranked second in those respective ratings.
