Rosaria LaRocca

Rosaria LaRocca, 96, and better known as Sally, went home to Heaven Feb. 7, 2008.

She was born in Licodiae Euboeae, Providence of Catalina in Sicily, Nov. 3, 1912.

Sally was a pastoral minister, a Eucharist minister and gave communion to the home-bound and persons in rehabilitation facilities. She was in the business of prayers and was a third generation Franciscan.

She was written up in the Pahrump Mirror (Gazette) in an article titled "An Angel we all Should Know."

Vern Van Winkle, owner of Channel 41, invited Sally to appear on TV every year since she turned 90, and she complied.

She ran for the Ms. Senior Golden Years pageant, founded by B.J. Irwin-Hedricks. In 2004, B.J. honored Sally with a special award of courage. This award will be given out every year to a deserving person and named "The Sally LaRocca Courage Award."

Sally was elated to be so honored. Thank you B.J.

Sally is survived by her children Jean and Paul; son-in-law Carl; daughter-in-law Sue; Rosemary; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 5 p.m., Feb. 16 with a memorial to follow at Our Lady of the Valley Church. There will be a reception to follow in the church hall.

Special thanks go out to Evergreen Nursing Home staff for the extra love and care.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the cancer charity of choice.

Donald Edward Clark

Donald Edward Clark, 84, passed away Feb. 6, 2008 in Pahrump.

He was born July 11, 1923 in Bradford, Pa., and lived in Pahrump for 12 years, having come from Torrance, Calif.

He was a retired maintenance controller for Delta/Western Airlines, a member of the VFW Post No. 10054, American Legion 184 and Escapees Co-op.

He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and of the Catholic faith.

His wife Joanne Clark of Pahrump; daughters Diana Wedlock of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Cynthia Loehner of Thousand Oakes, Calif.; sons Mark Clark of Sacramento, Calif., Donald Clark II of Riverside, Calif., Philip Clark of Torrance, Calif., and Paul Clark of Lancaster, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

A celebration of his life will be held 2-4 p.m., Feb. 9, at the clubhouse, 5150 Oakridge Drive.

Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in California. (02/06/2008)

Michael Petrilak Jr.

Michael Petrilak Jr., 79, passed away Feb. 9, 2008 in Pahrump.

He was born Sept. 18, 1928 in Manhattan, N.Y. and was a four-year resident of Pahrump, having come from Las Vegas.

He was a radio electronics officer for American Maritime and retired in 2003.

His studies led to a Ph.D. and he was of the Catholic faith.

His wife Doris Petrilak of Pahrump; stepdaughter Karen (Robert) Williams of Pahrump; stepson Erik Stoekle of Georgetown, Texas; sisters Mary Ellen Hastry of Macon Ga., and Helen (Oren) Aldrich of Bend Ore.; one grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews survive him.

He was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Bishop.

Visitation is 12-1 p.m., Feb. 14, at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Funeral to follow in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. (02/09/2008)

Betty A. Coenen

Betty A. Coenen, 81, passed away Jan. 23, 2008 in Las Vegas.

She was born Sept. 7, 1926 in Madison, Wis. and lived in Pahrump for 10 years, having come from Las Vegas.

She was a teachers aid and had a 12 years of education.

She is survived by her daughter Karla (Zoltan) Legeny of Dallas, Texas.

Services are within our hearts.

Lester 'Lee' Nance

Lester 'Lee' Nance, passed away Feb. 8, 2008.

He was born Oct. 14, 1961.

He was a loving son, brother, grandfather and uncle.

Lee was a great friend to many.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Beverly and Joseph DiGregorto of Pahrump; sister Susan Nance of Pahrump; daughters Maranda and Christina Nance of Lancaster, Calif.; grandsons Lucas and Brandon Harris of Lancaster, Calif.; nieces April Glenn of St. Joe, Texas and Robyn Todisco of Pahrump and nephew Dusten Nance of Pahrump.

He was loved by many and his presence will be missed by all. (02/08/2008)

Debby Kreigh

Debby Kreigh, 62, known as "The Bail Lady," died Jan. 21, 2008, at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas.

She was born in 1946 in Los Angeles, Calif., and moved to Las Vegas in 1991, after the death of her first husband.

In 1996, she married Lance Kreigh and the couple moved to Pahrump in 1999.

Among her avocations, she worked in an escrow company, owned Legal Forms Depot and Bail Lady Bonds.

The biggest joy in her life were her nine grandchildren and her many friends she made in both California and Nevada.

Her husband Lance Kreigh; sons Anthony Vanella, Lance Kreigh Jr. and James Kreigh; daughter Lani Kreigh; sisters Amber Lau and Shayne and grandchildren Abel, Serenity, Dianna, Tony, Benjamin, Samantha, Jessica, Jane and Hagan survive her.

A memorial service for Debby will be held at 9:30 a.m., Feb. 16 at Calvary Chapel, 1051 Mickey Street.

Anyone desiring to pay their respects may do so at this time. (01/21/2008)

Leonard A. Coenen

Leonard A. Coenen, 79, passed away Jan. 27, 2008 in Pahrump.

He was born Dec. 24, 1928 in Madison, Wis. and lived in Pahrump for 10 years, having come from Las Vegas.

He was a veteran retired from the military and a member of United We Stand.

His daughter Karla (Zoltan) Legeny of Dallas, Texas survives him.

Services are within our hearts.
