LOS ANGELES -- Forewarned, Democrats now are forearmed -- not that they will necessarily make sensible use of the gift. It was all left-wing bloggers, left-wing radio talk show hosts and left-wing magazine writers. Changing the faces in Washington I saw a poll recently that indicated 44 percent of Americans think a president can influence some issues, but we are less certain whether a president can influence how things really work in Washington.
