Fleiss busted, adds to own dirty laundry
By CHRISTINA EICHELKRAUT
Heidi Fleiss, former Hollywood madam and owner of the local Dirty Laundry laundromat, was arrested and booked on several charges of drug possession yesterday. Nye County Sheriff's Office Dep. Tidmarsh was dispatched to Emery Street and Oxbow Avenue at approximately 9:23 a.m. for a report of a drunk driver. The intoxicated motorist turned out to be no less than Fleiss, the woman who told the national media she came to Pahrump to open up a male brothel (and still has yet to do so). The subsequent investigation found the allegedly rehabilitated drug user with prescription narcotics, sans bottle and prescription. According to the sheriff's office press release, Fleiss "could produce no evidence that the prescription pain medication had been prescribed to her." Adding to her woes, and her charges, Fleiss didn't have her driver's license with her at the time. Fleiss was booked on possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, being under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, and driver's license not in possession. Her bail was pegged at $1,376. A passenger in the vehicle, John P. Owen, 53, was also found by deputies to be under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of marijuana. Owen was also arrested and his bail was set at $1,264. |
