Little League tryouts slated

Tryout dates have been set by the Pahrump Little League.

They are:

Feb. 5 or Feb. 9 -- Baseball for boys.

Feb. 5 times are 5 p.m. (9- and 10-year-olds); 6 p.m. (11- and 12-year-olds), 7 p.m. (13-year-olds and older).

Feb. 9 times are 8 a.m. to noon.

Feb. 6 or Feb. 9 -- Girls softball.

Feb. 6 times are 5 p.m. (9- and 10-year-olds); 6 p.m. (11- and 12-year-olds), 7 p.m. (13-year-olds and older).

Feb. 9 times are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The check-in site is at Field No. 2, near the Little League office.

Players are to have a glove, non-metal cleats and warm clothes for tryout dates. Each player must attend at least one of the two dates to be eligible for All-Star selection at the end of the season, as well as to help with team evaluation.

All players will be placed on a team, said PLL officials.

Registration will resume during the tryout times and dates; all ages are still being accepted.

Players must bring birth certificates and fee payments.

Managers are being sought in all divisions and volunteers are also needed.

Adult softball leagues form

The Pahrump Valley Softball Association is forming men's, women's and co-ed leagues.

A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Community Center Room B.
