With only a week remaining in the regular season, the Pahrump Valley Times Nevada High School basketball ratings have only two lists remaining.

On Feb. 8, the next-to-last ratings will be published, with the final report to appear Feb. 13 in the Times. Regional tournaments begin Feb. 12 and conclude Feb. 16. The state tournaments will be played in Reno Feb. 21-22-23.

At the moment, the top teams are:

Class 4-A Boys -- Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, 21-3;

Class 4-A Girls -- Bishop Gorman, 20-4;

Class 3-A Boys -- Las Vegas Faith Lutheran, 17-7;

Class 3-A Girls -- Mesquite Virgin Valley, 22-2;

Class 2-A Boys -- Pershing County Lovelock, 16-3;

Class 2-A Girls -- Needles, Calif., 21-3;

Class A Boys -- Lake Mead Christian Academy, 25-1;

Class A Girls -- Pahranagat Valley Alamo, 19-6.

Pahrump Valley's girls, 20-7, are third in Class 3-A, while the Trojan boys, 15-12, are sixth.

The ratings

It is Week 5 for the Pahrump Valley Times Nevada High School basketball ratings. They are based on games played through Jan. 30.

The ratings will appear each Friday through Feb. 8, with the final lists to be published Feb. 13, during the week of the regional tournaments.
